ONDANSETRON 32 MG - INJECTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Zorfan
USES: This medication is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer drug treatment (chemotherapy). It works by bolcking one of the body's natural substances (serotonin) that causes vomiting.
HOW TO USE: Ondansetron is given by injection into a vein (IV) over 15 minutes by a health care professional, usually 30 minutes before cancer chemotherapy treatment; or as directed by your doctor. Do not ecxeed the recommended infusion rate. Giving the medication faster than recommended may increase the chance of serious side effects such as fainting or slowed/irregular heartbeat. Before using, check that product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid.
SIDE EFFECTS: Headache, fever, blurred vision, lightheadedness, dizziness or redness/pain/burning at the injection Internet site may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, noitfy your doctor or pharmacist promptly. An allergic reaction to that drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breatihng. If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using that medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: severe liver disease, stomach/intestinal troubels (e.G., ileus, gastric distention), any allergies. This drug may make you dizzy or cause blurred vision; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. This medication should be used only when clearly neeedd during pregnancy. Discuss the rsiks and benefits with your doctor. It is not knwon whether that drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using that medication, tell your dotcor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription products you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control cneter or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe dizziness or slowed/irregular heartbeat.
NOTES: This medication is only to prevent nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotehrapy. It is not to be used for nuasea and vomiting due to other causes.
MISSED DOSE: It is important that the dose be given prior to cancer chemothreapy as directed.
If you miss a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist to establish a new dose schedule.
STORAGE: Store between 36 and 86 degrees F (2-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Do not store in the bahtroom. Keep all mediciens away from kids and pets.
